WordPress “Pretty” Links

August 9, 2010 by Brian Leave a Comment

WordPress creates pages & posts like this http://brianlis.com/?p=123

Not exactly SEO friendly or even human friendly as p=123 probably doesn’t mean anything to anyone.

To change the way your pages are displayed inside your WP admin panel goto Settings>Permalinks.

Switch the settings to custom and use the value /%postname%.htm or /%postname%.html or /%postname%/ depending on how you want your post slug or URL to be displayed. There might be SEO advantages as to the ending you use. I’ve never seen any evidence of the ending making a difference though.

Client Testimony

Pathos Leadership Group

I spent almost three months this year doing research, thinking, going to SEO school, blahblahblah. I finally hit a breaking point the middle of last month. That’s when I reached out and screened over two dozen WordPress developers for help. I landed on what I think is a gem of a guy who has developed the most awesome site for me and my team! His name is Brian Lis, a StudioPress Preferred Custom Designer. Brian’s a business owner himself, He knows his stuff!!!
